Dear St. Thomas the Apostle School Families,
I am writing to share the news that I will be transitioning from my role as Principal of St. Thomas the Apostle School, effective July 31st.
Serving this school community for the past five years has been one of the greatest
privileges of my professional life. I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside our dedicated faculty and staff, our supportive families, and, most importantly, our students. Watching our students grow both academically and spiritually has been the most rewarding part of my tenure here.
Together, we have accomplished a great deal. I am incredibly proud of the strategic
progress we have made and the vibrant community we have nurtured. I have every confidence that St. Thomas the Apostle School will continue to thrive because of the extraordinary people who make up this community.
As I look toward the future, I have decided that it is the right time for me to embark on a new professional chapter and explore new opportunities within the realm of secondary education. While I look forward to this next step in my journey, my immediate focus remains on ensuring a smooth transition for our students and staff.
I am reminded of the promise in Isaiah 40:31, that "those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength." It is in this spirit of renewal and hope that I move forward, and it is the same hope I hold for the continued flourishing of this wonderful school.
Thank you for the trust you have placed in me and for the kindness you have shown me throughout my time here. It has been an honor to serve you, and I wish the entire St. Thomas the Apostle community continued success and many blessings in the years ahead.
Sincerely,
Mr. Adam Biggs
Dear St. Thomas the Apostle School Families,
In a public way, please allow me to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for Mr. Biggs and his leadership in our school community over the past five years. He has shown himself to be wholeheartedly committed to Catholic education, and our students and families have certainly benefited from his care. I am very grateful for the collaboration I have shared with him over the years and wish him very well in this next chapter. May the Holy Spirit guide us forth to the future.
I fully recognize that any change naturally brings some questions. Please know that I am committed to finding the right person to succeed Mr. Biggs and lead our school into its next chapter. I plan to keep you informed of each step along the way, the first of which will be posting the application to our school website and the Diocese of Albany Catholic Schools Office website later this afternoon.
There will be another step that will include inviting our school community to offer their gratitude for Mr. Biggs. These plans are currently underway, and you will receive information about those opportunities in the coming days.
As always, I am open to listening to you and answering your questions: matthew.duclos@rcda.org.
May St. Thomas the Apostle continue to intercede for us! Mr. Biggs, thank you, and know of my prayers for you and our community.
Peace,
Fr. Matt
