Uniform Guidelines

While the uniform offers a fair amount of individual freedom for children to express their personal taste, we expect each child to follow the uniform code each day by wearing the uniform properly. The School Logo must be displayed at all times, whether it is on the sweater, shirt, gym shirt or sweatshirt. Wearing a sweater/sweatshirt is optional. Wearing the School Logo is mandatory.

We often have uniforms available as a part of the the Uniform Exchange program.  For more information, please contact the school office in person or by phone at 518-439-5573.

Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)

Parent Teacher Organization

The PTO is a volunteer organization whose main purpose is to enhance the educational experiences of the students at St. Thomas School. The organization is run by a team of parents who meet monthly to plan events and programs for their children. Parents also help coordinate community service programs for each class and work closely with the teachers to plan programs and field trips which help students to grow in a spiritually cooperative environment. A small dues amount is collected from each family once a year, and this money helps to run some of our programs and events. Each class, Pre-K – Grade 8, has PTO class representatives who come to monthly meetings and report to their class families all the important happenings at our school. In addition, each class has community service coordinators who work closely with the teacher to plan service programs throughout the year. There isn’t a month that goes by where the PTO isn’t hard at work!

Get involved! Attend monthly meetings. Sign up to help at an event or with a program. Keep informed by reading our meeting minutes. You too can make a difference in your child’s educational experience here at St. Thomas School. Contact a PTO board member or a class representative at any time with any questions you may have. Most importantly, be an active member of our PTO and see what a rewarding experience it truly can be.

How can you help the PTO and help St. Thomas the Apostle School?

Price Chopper Tools for Schools Program - Register your AdvantEdge card and designate St. Thomas School as your school of choice.Designated “Tools for Schools” items which you purchase will earn points which will be credited to our school. Please re-register your card to ensure that credit is given to St. Thomas School, even if you have already done so in the past. The program was revised recently and old card numbers are no longer credited to our school.

Hannaford Helps Program - When you purchase specifically marked items, you earn “school dollars” which are printed out for you with your receipts at check out. Save these “dollars” and turn them in to store making sure St. Thomas School is given the credit.

Staples Recycling Program - When you are ready to throw away your copy/printing center cartridges, drop them off at school for the PTO. We will recycle them at Staples and get $2.00 credit on our Staples Rewards Account. Each month, we will be sent a check which we will use to purchase PTO copying items such as paper and ink. Every little bit helps!
