Join the St. Thomas the Apostle School community, local community members, business professionals, St. Thomas parishioners, alumni, and current families for a night of fun, live and silent auctions, fabulous food, and entertainment.

Claim your star on the walk of fame by making a donation! With an expected attendance of 250+ guests, this is a fantastic opportunity to promote your business, extend goodwill and network with the local community. One of the several highlights of this fundraising event are the silent and live auctions, featuring a variety of different products and experiences to bid on. Your sponsorship provides you with an opportunity to promote your business or product to a highly prized and difficult to reach audience in an uncluttered and exclusive environment, where guests are predisposed to shop. It truly is a win-win as this occasion offers you a chance to showcase your business while supporting a worthy cause.

St. Thomas is proud to have had 1,700 student graduates over the last 68 years and we look forward to continuing to provide and expand these experiences for future generations. Consider making a donation to help St. Thomas school keep our numbers growing.

All sponsorship levels include tickets to the evening’s festivities. It is our sincere hope that St. Thomas the Apostle School can count on your tax-deductible contribution. By committing to one of the sponsorship levels or by donating merchandise or services for our silent or live auction, YOU will make a measurable difference for our students and our community. Honoring Mr. Thomas Kane

Principal of St. Thomas School 2000-2020

An advocate of Catholic education, Mr. Kane grew up in Floral Park in Nassau County and attended Catholic school from grade five through eight at Notre Dame School in New Hyde Park. That is where he first discovered his desire to embark on the path of becoming an educator. He gradated from Le Moyne College and received a master's in secondary education from Adelphi University. Mr. Kane came to the Capital Region in 1992 where he taught high school English at Catholic Central (Troy), Bishop Maginn (Albany), and went on to be principal of Cohoes Catholic. In 2000, he joined St. Thomas the Apostle School where he was principal until 2020.

Mr. Kane's tenure as principal at St. Thomas was marked by a steadfast commitment to preserving the school's rich traditions while simultaneously guiding the school into a new century. Under his leadership, the school not only maintained its foundational values but also embraced innovative educational practices that enhanced the learning experience for all students. His ability to balance tradition with progress provided the St. Thomas community with a sense of stability and continuity during a time of significant change. Mr. Kane's faith-filled leadership fostered a nurturing environment where both faculty and students thrived, ensuring that the spirit of St. Thomas remained strong and vibrant as it moved confidently into the future.

While at St. Thomas, Mr. Kane received the Bishop Hubbard Distinguished Principal Award, an award given to educators though a nomination process in their school community. Mr. Kane led St. Thomas through Covid-19's restart and once the school reopened in 2020, he made the bittersweet decision to retire from teaching, The St. Thomas community is grateful for all of Mr. Kane's contributions over the years and we are pleased to honor him at this year's Gala.
