Stewardship Service Program


School Program Service Descriptions

Leadership/Management (time varies according to project)

This service requires the experience of leading and organizing a group of people in performing simple tasks. Time management, scheduling, and budgeting are needed skills.

Teacher Aide (at least 1/2 day [3 hours] per week)

This service requires at least a two year degree and preferably a four-year degree. As a teacher aide, you will assist a classroom teacher in reading, mathematics, writing, and one-on-one learning.

Library Aide (At least 1/2 day [3 hours] per week. Some work may be performed outside school hours.)

This service requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to work with children, a love of reading, and a basic understanding of the library.

Office Aide (At least 1/2 day [3 hours] per week. Some work may be performed outside school hours.)

This service requires excellent people skills, the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, phone skills, light filing skills, computer skills, and organization skills. Microsoft Office Suite title proficiency is a definite plus.

Playground Supervisor (from 1-5 days per week [2.75 hours per day])

This service requires the ability to work with children, answer questions, and settle disputes fairly and consistently, a great set of eyes and ears, and the ability to stand outside in the cold for long periods of time. Knowledge of playground games a plus.

Lunchroom Supervisor (from 1-5 days per week [2.75 hours per day])

This service requires light lifting, the ability to clean tables and chairs, a great set of eyes and ears, the ability to manage large groups of children, a strong voice, a good sense of humor, and good time management.

School Development Committee (times vary; work can be done from home)

The School Development Committee is a growing resource of people whose talents help to build support for the school through a number of benefit programs and fundraisers. The ability to work as part of a team, make personal contacts, follow through on leads, organize data, and meet deadlines are necessary skills.
