Report Cards |
Your child's second quarter report card was sent home today. Please
review the report card with your child. Overall, the children are
doing very well, and we are pleased with their progress. If you have
any questions or concerns about your child's progress, please do not
hesitate to contact your child's teacher or Mr. Kane.
Our goal is to see each child achieve at the highest limits of his
or her potential. This takes time, practice, patience, and making
good choices. As a general rule, the high achieving student makes
the following choices:
-
Limiting television, video games, and non-academic computer
time.
-
Spend 2X as much time reading as the above mentioned
activities. That's 2 hours of reading for every hour of TV
or video games.
-
Always comes to class prepared and with homework assignments
completed.
-
Asks questions in class if he or she does not understand
something.
-
Always pays attention in class, does not distract others,
nor is he or she easily distracted.
-
Writes all assignments, tests, project due dates and other
school related activities in his or her planner
(Grades 3-8).
-
Older students as for appointments with their teachers for
extra help when needed. They do not wait for the test
results.
These skills are life-learning skills. We want our students to
develop these positive work habits beginning at a young age. Many of
these skills are taught and reinforced at school, but some must be
monitored at home. As partners in education, we will continue to
work together for the strong development of your child.

State of the School Presentation |
The annual State of the School Presentation will take place on
Monday, February 11, beginning at 7:30 PM, in the Church. Each
family should be represented this evening as it is an opportunity
for us to learn more about the things we have done and the things we
need to do for the future of our school. I understand the many
commitments of your family; however, this gathering is incomplete
without you.
Among the topics being presented will be the school's finances and
family stewardship opportunities for the 2008-2009 school year.
