Drop Off and Pick Up Procedure

Morning Directions |
No cars may come on the school blacktop after 7:30 AM
(Pre-Kindergarten drop off excluded).
If you bring your child(ren) to school:

Approach school on Adams Place only from the Kenwood
Avenue direction.

Stop at the school sidewalk for your children to exit your
car. No car doors on the street side should be opened.

Children should exit quickly, especially in bad weather, and
should walk quickly to the lobby entrance.

Parents must leave immediately to allow the next cars to
pull up. Sometimes we have cars backed up around the corner
onto Kenwood Avenue. If you want to wait to be sure your
child enters school, you should pull up beyond the sidewalk.
You could also park on the church blacktop and walk your
child into the building.
Observe traffic rules as you re-enter traffic. Look before you start
out. Use your directional light and then look again before you move.
Parents who park on the church blacktop should cross with the
crossing guard who has authority to stop cars. If you decide not
to cross with the guard, safety is your responsibility.
All children walking or arriving by car must be in their classrooms
by 8:05 AM. Children need the time from 8:05 AM until the bell at
8:10 AM to unpack and get their books, etc. ready for class. All
buses arrive by 8:05 AM.
All walkers must follow the directions of our crossing guard.
Kenwood and Adams is a very busy corner any time and the morning
rush traffic makes it even more difficult.
Parents who have to go to work early may bring children to school
at 7:30 AM. Supervision begins at that time. Altar servers may come
directly over from 7:00 AM Mass.

Afternoon Directions |
No child may wait for a car unless we have written permission by
8:10 AM that morning.
No cars may wait on Adams Place in front of the school or rectory.
If your child needs to leave before 2:40 PM, please park in the
church parking lot and walk across the street to pick up your child.
You must stop at the office when you enter the building. Office
personnel will bring your child to you.
Cars should approach school from the Delmar Place direction. Enter
the parking lot only when signaled to do so by a staff member. No
one should be in the way of the buses. Adams Place should be clear
of all traffic until 2:40 PM. The buses depart the parking lot by
2:45 PM. Do not wait on Adams before 2:40 PM.
As you enter the parking lot, the line will move forward and we will
tell the children to load. Children will wait until their car is at
the front of the line.
Pre-K parents enter the parking lot in the line and park along
the gym wall. Parents then enter through the lobby entrance and go
to the Pre-K classroom.
Kindergarten parents park in the church lot and walk across
the street. Kindergarten parents can pick up their child at the
11:20 AM dismissal.
Your cooperation in following these directions makes it easier to
dismiss the hundreds of children in our care.
